Kevin On Kelly

Kelly has been my best friend for almost 15 years. She is passionate, loving, smart, loyal and the most hardworking person I know. Her passion for teaching and love of dance are just two of my favorite things about Kelly. She isn’t just my best friend and soulmate; she is my role model. On top of managing her own business, teaching kids dance, spending time with her friends & family she also is a leader in our local community.
I truly believe Kelly is the best person I know.
I can’t wait to see her become a Mom because I have no doubt it will be another reason for me to admire her.

Kevin is one of the most generous, giving, loyal people I have ever met. He is extremely devoted to his family and friends, and I know that he will be just as devoted to our children, if not more. Kevin is easygoing, hilarious, and loves to enjoy life to the fullest. He always keeps me laughing! He is also truly a kid at heart (love this picture of him with BB8 from Star Wars!), and I know that he will be the best, most attentive dad. Kevin is an amazing partner, who is so supportive of everything I do.

Our Life

Our Home.

We live in a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood in the suburbs of New York City, with our dog, Jack. Our community is a wonderful place for a family - there are lots of parks and playgrounds, tons of family-oriented activities, and we are a 10 minute drive to the beach. We live in a quaint village with tons of shopping, restaurants, ice cream shops, and more. We have been waiting a long time to turn our spare bedroom into a nursery, and we cannot wait to welcome a child into our home.

Fun fact: We have a HUGE tree in our backyard that is approximately 300 years old! It is so cool to have an amazing piece of history on our property. We hope that one day we can build a tree house for our children!

Our Family.

Our journey began when we met in 2006 as college freshman. We quickly became friends and discovered that we had many of the same values and goals in life. We fell in love and later married in 2014. We bought our current home in 2016 and within two weeks brought home our dog, Jack! He is so much fun, and we couldn’t imagine living in our house without him. Jack was only 7 weeks old when we adopted him from a local shelter! He is currently about 5 years old, and he has grown up into a wonderful dog. We can’t wait to see him get into mischief with a new best friend.

We also live within a half hour of each of our parents, and we have many extended family members and friends nearby. We love to entertain in our backyard and really thrive on gathering with family and friends. We are extremely lucky that we have such a wonderful support system, and all of our family and friends are so supportive of our adoption journey.

Our Hobbies.

We are very active people who love fitness and love being outside. Growing up on Long Island, we absolutely love the beach and water activities. We enjoy boating, kayaking, and just relaxing on the beach. We also love to take our dog, Jack, for long walks and on various outdoor adventures!

We love:

Hiking
Travel (some of our favorite trips include Australia & South Africa)
Reading (we are big Harry Potter fans!)
Disney! We go to Disney every couple of years with Kelly’s students, and we might be bigger Disney fans as adults than when we were kids.
Good food - We both love to cook and explore new restaurants in our area!
